    hi guys

    i read somewhere that you cant upgrade the gpu of this model. however ialso read somewhere that it is a mxm-compatible card.

    so now i dont know which is which. can it be upgraded and what slot is it?

    1. Warranty will be voided.
    2. Not easy to do.
    3. Will cost you far more than you wish to spent.

    Conclusion, its not worth it unfortunately.

    Its most likely a MXM-II card, but whether or not its a custom HP version, I do not know. If it is a custom version, then no it will not be possible. And if it is, you will need a compatible bios as it will not be a standard part among the dv9xxx line.

    Honestly, sorry to kill your hopes but no its not possible.

    i think ill take you suggestion and just sell my lappy and buy a new one when i tire of it
    its been a great notebook so far....

    BTW, none of the HP consumer notebooks until now except for the HDX series used MXM graphics.The graphics card was integrated with the motherboard itself. So, no option of upgrading the GPU.
