If only they offered GPUs that weren't rubbish for their AMD laptops..

At least a Geforce go 7200 is better than the Xpress 200 in the dv8000z.

yeah, it's really sad that I was excited to see the Go 7200. I wonder why they so consistently avoid good GPUs in AMD systems...Intel flexing their muscles behind the scene, cost saving technique, or hardware limitations, who knows?

Because HP isnt a best option for gaming, if you want to seriously game, go for a Sager or a Asus that has a good graphics card. HP makes notebooks for the consumer who wants a notebook that works.

Yessiree. Since I've been reading other people's personal notebook reviews for the past year I feel obligated to give one as well. I will be using this notebook while traveling to Rome next spring and wanted a versatile and dependable computer. Some of the programs I'll be using heavily are Photoshop, AutoCAD, Indesign, Illustrator, SketchUp, and maybe a few games...we'll see. I'll get the review up as soon as possible.

I wonder what GPU the dv9000t(Intel) is going to have if ever they release it. A Go 7900 perhaps!

Hopefully that will be an option! Since traditionally, their intel systems always have better GPU than their AMD counterparts.

I just got my Dv6000z this past thursday I changed my dv5000z order once the 6000 was online on the 12th of this month. It is really cool. Sadly though they will send me a new one on aug 2 because I complained that the screen frame was loose. I went to staples checked the dv2000 and it was not loose. I usually wait a few weeks or months before something new comes out just incase they have problems but I had to buy it soon before my dv5000 arrives. Another thing that I didnt like was that the power is plugged to the right and could be anouying if the you have to plug your computer on the left side of the wall. Also I hate that media thing where you can watch dvds while the operating sytem is off. Why? If you slightly touch any of those sensitive cool looking media buttons the system will turn on. When I used one of those keyboard protection sheets the one you put between the screen and the keyboard to protect the screen from hand oils and close the lids it turns up the media thing. Without you knowing if its on mute the thing is up and running and you can drain the battery if you didnt know about it. I have the Turion x2 1.8 and I got a superPi of 1.49 to 1.52 secs. Dont be missslead from the numbers it's 64 bit and we have to wait and see in the furture. Didnt check the 3dmark05 yet. I think the 7200 is ok. I'm not a gamer but in full screen its ok. I think I'm going to right a review but I'm not sure. If you have any questions ask even in private.

    Hi All,
With today's article posted on the start page by Chaz, I would say that may soon change. With AMD and ATI joining forces good things may begin to happen concerning AMD powered laptops. Also it appears from the article that AMD intends to make a series of upcoming processors with on-die gpu's. This may inhibit swapping graphics boards it can also eliminate the graphics port bottleneck. If AMD can effect this architecture with the gpu core processing at the cpu core clock speed graphics will benefit greatly.

Yeah, I really doubt we'll see any immediate changes in architecture or integration this year, or even next year. The full effects of the merger won't be for awhile.

I just received shipping info for the dv6000z. It shipped today and is expected to arrive on Aug 4th. I didn't know that this would be coming from Shanghai, China. 9 days is a long time to wait. Anyway, just lettin ya know that I won't be able to get a review until a little later than I thought.

If it has shipped already it probably won't take 9 days to get to you. I ordered an HP zv6000 last year and when it shipped from China I got it about 3 days later. Good luck and let us know how you like it after you get it.

That'd be cool, but it just got to Alaska and I'm on the east coast. If you're further west, it could easily cut a few days off of the trip.
