    i see lots a heat issues with hp laptops ,wondering if thats still an issue with a t9300 and x3100 vid card

    Its actual the harddrive heat that most people complain about because it sits just below the left palm rest.

    no heat issues there now , only DV2000z had the problem because of the AMD chips in it.
    and Penryns are not any cooler than meroms at least I could never tell any difference in real life use.

    plus, I think the DV2700 series , which I bought a few days a go and very very happy with , runs very cool and mine is T8300 , I wanted to buy a T7500 model,though.

    any way here is a test.

    I think unless you buy the most expensive T9xxx series , there is no significant difference in speed btween Penryns and high end Meroms.

    I 'd say if you need a Penryn PC , wait till montevina is released with it.

    a t7500 model is much cheaper and similarly fast , so it is the best buy.
