so i have this dv7t recently purchased
i like almost everything about it, webbrowsing and multitaskings are done with ease and it runs almost every games i play with high settings.

one thing that i tried but coudlnt do on dv7t though, was to intall amd drivers. i did lots of searching and reading and best choice was to install latest hp stock drivers, and instal latest amd ccc on top of that.

so i did the first part, went to hp official site and downlaoded the latest grapphic driver. after that i went do amd site and downloaded the latest ccc. but when im trying to install, it just fails to do so. it says something like the driver or hardware is not adequate to run the install process.

so i downloaded the performace version of the driver from 3dguru.com, and same thing happends..

anyone with their dv7t succesfully installed the amd driver on top of hp driver? im wondering if i am doing something wrong..

i really dont mind keep using hp stock drivers but i sometimes see some tearing and v-sync issue while playing games..

I believe this question has been answered several times and you must uninstall existing drivers and install the performance drivers if you wish

Yes this has been talked about one place is on my signature.
One you can try from DNA drivers from DoNotArgue.com - no arguments needed
    11.8.3 or 11.10 prev2 from DNA.
and the other is from WHQL from AMD Catalyst 11.11 WHQL (8.911.0 25.10.2011) - Rage3D Discussion Area

As you have to run modified drivers. You have the instructions right install Stock drivers and then install AMD Drivers--for this one only install the driver and nothing else, this is because of the switchable graphics.
    Hope this helps

So we are reverting back to Nvidia and AMD not providing drivers for mobile GPU's?

Actually, AMD officially doesn't support switchable with Intel graphics as noted in their release notes.

There are workarounds but be aware, they are a hit or miss on each iteration.

Or off the Nvidia.com download site.

Optimus is supported by Nvidia as long the OEM is using Nvidia's standard implementation.
