update over stock drivers if you have switchable.
update from a manual direct download not from downloading off of AMD's site (it won't let you get it from the downloader).
here's 11.2 and 11.3

any problems in 11.3 vs 11.2?
edit -installing 11.3 -
laptop crashed while installing 11.3, turned back on and checked driver and it was updated. reinstalled 11.3 again and it updated the ati control center. as long as it worked lol.

It didn't crash. The screen just went black. It has something to do with the dual GPUs.
Next update, just wait until the HDD stops working and do
Windows key, right, enter
to shut down -

yeah.
it has to do with the original drivers (10.3)
if you ever clean install, start out with the 10.6/10.7 hp drivers (8.742 or something not 8.713). The gpu will recover (won't stay as a black screen)
now though since you have 11.3 installed it won't do that anyway 'cause well, it's no longer on the old original drivers (well you kept the switchable stuff) -
ah I see, thanks for the info.
and yea I waited for the hard drive light to stop and turned off when it "crashed" but I guess I did early since it didnt update everything. -

yeah.
it's like that sometimes. you have to wait roughly 10 minutes (at least 5)
oh well, it shouldn't "crash" anymore.
