Anyone have info on when this will be available. Also, I've seen conflicting info re the weight of the unit. I plan to get mine fairly "loaded", which likely affects the weight.

I'm still looking for the "perfect" Sonoma notebook...combo of portability(i.e.under 6 lbs) and high-capability graphics for 3D gaming...my major contenders are 1)HP-C nc 8230, 2) IBM T43p, and 3) Travelmate 8104...I'd been considering an LG, but scared off by the reported difficulty in getting warranty service, if needed/ Dale

    Me too.

Does the IBM have a widesreen 15.4" display?

In the specs, it states 5.8 lbs, but other places has 6+.

I have looked at Acer also, still not available around here, and I tried a similar keyboard at Microcenter and hated the curved layout. I could not type on it at all.

Sony and Toshiba Sanoma's have nice screens but crappy video cards or integrated.

Was planning on Dell, but i6000 has integrated card and Lattitude 810? was considered but I think too heavy.

So am waiting and checking HP every day and getting very irritated by seeing the "coming soon" logo.

As far as I can tell the nc8230 is the lightest and thinnest of any of the 15.4" notebooks out there. It actually is available to buy now, but isn't shipping until March 8th. I bought mine Tuesday after months of looking around. I actually had a 8104 on backorder and cancelled that to get the nc8230.

    Here's the link to buy:
