After I log onto my account my dv6500t hangs on a black screen with a cursor for a good 1-3 minutes before it displays the desktop. Is there any way to reduce the time or stop it from doing this? thanks.

It might be due to your graphic card. Try searching for the latest driver releases from HP.com

This happened on both of my DV6000Z's. Close the lid, wait a few seconds, and reopen. It should flash a few times and then start working. It seems to be a Vista related issue.

I've seen this on the Sony FZ-140 at Best Buy. However, the black screen only lasted about three seconds.
