Hi, i got a dv6500t, and i want to boot the laptop from an external dvd drive. Though in the bios there is no option to boot from an external drive. Only the built in ATPI cd/DVD drive. Is there any way of getting around this?
    Thanks..

If there is no USB option in the BIOS, there is no way to boot from an external drive.

Out of curiosity: do you want to boot from the external drive because the internal one is not working? I've never heard of trying to boot from an external OPTICAL drive before, even though it should work the same as any other external drive.

ohh, okay, well i my drive works but i am installing something but it fails during install, so ppl told me to try another dvd drive. My other 4 computers all have the option to boot from dvd drive. Besides this laptop..
