i have a HP dv6152eu (1GB Ram, AMD Turion64 X2) i occassionally run it on batteries so that i dont ruin the batteries by keeping it plugged into mains but i noticed that my laptop takes really long boot-up wen its on batteries, it also doesnot feel as quirky and quite responsive as it does wen its plugged into the mains, i was wondering whether there is some sort of utility that can modify the speed of the processor??

    Thanks.

Your notebook steps down the processing ability of CPU when on battery in order to conserve energy and preserve battery life for a longer time. You may adjust these settings if you find it to be a nuisance.

right click the desktop go to properties, screensaver then power options and select from the power schemes. always on is the highest performance setting.
