    is it possible to burn normal dvd-r and dvd/rw on lightscribe or does lightscribe dvds only work?

    You can burn any +/- DVD media. But if you want to use lightscribe tech, then you will need special DVD's.

    Most lightscribe drives, however, do lack DL capability.
