    can NCQ be turned on in dv9700t ?

    I noticed my intel storage matrix manager says ncq is not supported,
    but I have a hitachi and seagate drive that does support it.
    I have also made sure that ncq was turned on in the hard drive
    by using the manufacturers bootup software to access the service menu.

    Did you at any point install XP without SATA mode enabled (or rather, turn on IDE mode)?

    Did you install the Intel Chipset Utility?

    Nope, didn't install xp, I do have the intel chipset utility installed.
