I was wondering if I could upgrade the cpu in my c501nr laptop to a dualcore? The current processor is a celeron m430, the computer has 2gb of ram. When I run ccleaner it tells me I have the 945gm express chipset. I looked it up on intels web page and they said it was compatible to some dual core processors. As for taking a laptop apart I'm comfortable with. It's the compatablity and software sides of things I'm less comfortable with. This is my first post here so if this has already been asked I'm sorry. Appreciate any help I may recieve.

i think it has... there are some other C500 users on this board. i was hoping to get the c500 as well but the C700 was such a deal! let me attempt to dig...

    EDIT: this thread miiiiiight help

but i think the first question to ask is if the CPU is even removable from the Motherboard... i think you have to check that yourself... try opening the RAM door and see if you can peek inside...
