I quite liked the one I used for a day - the slim profile and weight made it fine to carry around. I should add that while the weight was fine for a laptop, using it as a tablet wasn't as good. Tbh, using a 13" tablet feels odd anyway.
Downsides I felt were the low voltage processor and the limited RAM - if your needs aren't too intense then it could well be fine. TBH, if you're looking at super thin profile systems and expecting no compromises then you may be disappointed. Didn't benchmark it but for general useage it was fine and didn't show any obvious thermal issues. Super thin and light systems generally have some issues with thermal management so it's a fair guess that when being pushed hard, it will fare worse than a chunker system. Keyboard didn't feel awesome but after typing 3000 words in a day, a large number of keyboards start to get on your nerves for small things that could be better and would be fine for normal useage.Last edited: Jan 8, 2016titanlord1 likes this. -

Why does everybody wants to know only negatives?
For my part. Bought the I7, Full HD on a Black Friday Deal.
I'm absolutely satisfied with the laptop. More than with a laptop ever before.
Reasons for this:
- pure perfect haptics. The metal body is dream
- the convertible function. I never thought I would use it. Now i would never buy a regular ultrabook
- the touchpad works great, is huge, is a dream (besides the wobbling side, which I got used to within 2 days and can be fixed easily)
- Screen has nice colors and is very bright (Full-HD in Tablet Mode possibly not enough for Crisp-crisp Display Lovers)
- Bang & Olufsen Sound is great
- keyboard is not perfect but still nice. Could be a little stiffer. The Button Placement varies from regular keyboards which kind of annoys in the first days
- Battery last during browsing/ office work about 8-9 hours, during photo editing around 6,5-7,5 hours, Gaming around 4,5hours
- regular-HDMI, 3x USB, SD Card reader which sunks the card fully
Negatives you want to hear:
- yes it does get warm on bottom left side. Not during web browsing or office work. Slightly during Adobe Lightroom work. Heavily during rendering or gaming. What do I mean with heavily? For me it means that it's not comfortable to have it on the Lap anymore (just uncomfortable, no pain)
- No USB Type C
- Regular Charger Port (not as nice as the Surface Pro)
- Painted, non metal keys - no problem yet but I fear the paint to come off in the long term
Main advantages compared to the surface pro 4 which I first wanted to buy:
Long term:
Battery Swap possible
SSD Swap possible
Fan cleaning possible
Much cheaper
Overal Rating for me: A-
The minus only for one reason: It's future proof for 5-6 years because you can clean/swap everything but maybe it needs to be exchanged earlier because of the missing Type C USB port. But this is a maybe. Nobody knows how fast USB Type C will be the standard.thisisourlunch and titanlord1 like this. -
thank you for that. the only reason why i want to know the negatives because all i hear are good things from this laptop

totally agree!! I choose this over XPS13, better built quality and never got a blue screen. Heat and wobbing trackpad is only small issue I can live with. Spectre15 has one TypeC, but not on 13 even coming OLED model. This is my first ultrabook, even with convertible experience, my rating is 90/100.
I have some question for you:
I got 2k display, and i adjust the windows text to 150% which feels good to me most of time. But when open Adobe PS or AI, it's too small to see anyting. Is there anyting I can do inside the PS or AI to make it bigger? Or should I change the screen resulotion to 1080 in windows to make these program work?
If I change the resulotion to 1080 FHD, will i get a longer battery life? -
Yes, the Spectre does get warm on the rear left side but on the positive the heat exhaust is on the rear left side. This is a positive for those who use the notebook on their laps for lengthy periods. My Dell Inspiron and Yoga 2 13 both exhaust heat at the rear which really warms the legs.
The Spectre is a little wider than my old 13 inch Portege.
The Synaptics driver for Windows 10 has a problem supporting scrolling direction the old way. I had to install the Windows 8.1 version.
The bios does not support battery life calculations. HP says that they were misleading.
can someone list the negatives of the hp spectre x360?
