i recently bought DV7T with the specs of
i7 2670
8gigs of ram
6770m 1gigs
i liked it so far, i mean things are fast, and games rum smooth,
but one thing that botheres me alot is that
everytime i run PCmark and 3Dvantage,
the CPU portion fails below average...
my i7 2670 scored worse than than the 2630.
first i did the 3dvantage, and cpu failed the targeted score by official 3dmark vantage website, so i runned PCmark vantage which i read that deals with more cpu oriented performances,
and the score was way way under the tested score of notebookreviews' dv7t reviews..
so im wondering if theres any possibility that cpu can be defective, or somthings wrong with it..
oh and i just couldnt install the latest AMD drivers (i tried alot, just cant)
so i am running latest HP drivers..is that be a cause? i hope so but i doubt it..
my retun/exchange dates are comming soon so i have to decide
any advices i will really appreciate

okay i just ran again and cpu failed badly again
overall 6967 / targeted score 6400
gpu 5738 / targeted 5300
cpu 14948 / 17500
yea cpu fails by more than 2500 points.
i searched other peoples scores and
even the lower overall scores has much better cpu scores than mine.. -
oh and im running with stock hp windows with all the bloatwares,
can that be a cause? i closed all the applications while running 3dvantage though.. -
Sometimes Turbo Boost fails to kick in, so your CPU speed will be worse than 2630QM w/turbo.
-
could also try downloading throttlestop and forcing it to keep the turbo boost active while the test is going on
also make sure your set to performance in coolsense, if you're in coolest mode it will keep the cpu throttled around 2.00ghz (thats what it is for my 2630, so yours would be like 2.1ghz or something)
can the CPU be defective in my DV7T? is there a possibility?
