Lately when coming out of standby on my Envy 14, i am unable to adjust the screen brightness unless i reboot. Any suggestions?

I also have this problem. After coming out of standby or hibernate, the brightness keys do not work at all. The other fn keys are fine though.

I recommend updating your bios and upgrading to the latest ATI video drivers.

It's random. Hopefully a (newer) BIOS update will fix it for good.

same problem here.
Is there known solution for this bug?
bios version is f.23
no switchable graphics ( core i7-720 ).
Latest ATI drivers ( 08/03/2011 version ).
Happens always if I close the lid (sleep) while connected to AC power, and open the lid while disconnected.
Brightness box disappears from "Windows Mobility Center".
If rebooting functionality returns.
Can someone confirm this bug too? -
quick fix: change your lid close action to "nothing"
quickly close the lid and reopen it, brightness should work again. -

it just happens due to stupid amd drivers and/or other things.
I'm on 11.11c and it doesn't happen to me.
'course I instead get the fun "black screen coming outta standby gotta put the lid down like 2 or 3 more times before the screen comes back" bug that started showing up with AMD's 11.10 drivers. -
^ I get the black screen after wake as well as no brightness control on 11.11c.

weird. I at least get brightness controls, I think.
edit: I take that back. I don't get brightness controls for like 5 to 10 seconds. Then the fan kicks in to overdrive for a second (like it's swapping gpus or something, but it is not) and brightness controls come back
Also I don't always get the black screen.
can't adjust screen brightness
