My laptop has been running well but the internet crapped out on my yesterday! I plug the dsl router directly into my laptop and explorer can't load to my homepage. It also says detecting proxy servers at the bottom left and it takes awhile for it to load and comes up with nothing. What happened? How do I fix this?

    BTW: the wireless still works

Sounds like your ISP's DNS servers went down temporaraly, I have to reboot my router every time it happens with my ISP so give that a try and it should fix the issue.

did you try right clicking on the bottom left right side on the network adapter icon and click repair if its not there go to network connections and right click on it there. usually that does the trick for me when my internet craps out even when it say connected.
