I have an HP DV6000 laptop with 2 gig of ram and I've been having tons of problems upgrading it to service pack one.

I'm pretty sure I have the correct drivers for everything:

    Intel 945 GM Express: 7.14.10.1437
    Conexant HD Audio: 4.33.1.60

I have all the updates on WU, including the optional ones, but SP1 still doesn't show up. The other day I was bored, so I manually downloaded SP1 off of Microsoft's website and the install goes fine up until the third time it reboots. Then I get a blue screen of death and it reboots again asking if i want to go back to a restore point. Any advice on what I should do next?

nah, I have an Intel 945 gm. That was one of the problems, but hp's site says that the latest 945 drivers work with sp1.

Try booting the computer into safe mode and installing SP1, for my HP Dv9500T before I installed windows XP on it the installation for Service Pack One would always stop at 84% on the first step. After holding down the power button, and shutting the computer off (which it suggests not to) I booted into safe mode and the installation continued.
