Hey guys, was hoping you could help me out.

I started playing rome 2 and the official driver (Which is 2 years old) has major issues with it. so I installed the latest catalyst (13.11) and at first it worked great. I had my graphics card configured as fixed on bios.

But then, I restarted my laptop with the graphics card set as the integrated one (previously I had restarted the laptop with the descrete graphics card selected and had no issues. Could easily switch between them too.). I think it was because of this that now I'm stuck at 800x600 resolution.

Any way to fix this issue? perhaps a way to forcefully change the selected graphics card (from integrated to discrete) when the computer turns on/before it turns on. Or perhaps any other way?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a case of bad GPU? Is your unit overheating and which exact model of hp are you talking about giving a pavilion dv6xxx doesn't tell much what system that is so can you be more specific which model number?

No its not the GPU. its a driver issue to be specific. preferrably need help from someone with a 7690m or 7690m xt who are familiar with this issue.

model is 6c02tx (I think theres a tx at the end)..

    processor: i5 2450m
    gpu: 7690m xt

    thanks.

Did you uninstall 13.x and reinstall 12.x and see what happens to the stability? I do know 13.1 had stability problems as opposed to 12.10 which worked fine.

As I read, you just installed the official AMD driver to your system? That's not gonna' work. HP uses specific bios for the card, you either need to use the official HP driver for it or the modded Leshcat driver.

    Thanks for the info guys.

Can you recommend a good Leschat driver?

I cant seem to find 12.10 anywhere and I've been looking for it for like an hour. Can you link me to a download page?

There's a driver section, for your notebook, there you can find the newest official driver for the system. As for Leshcat, use the newest. If there's a BSOD or lagging video problem, try it with the Intel Legacy driver. Also included in the Leshcat driver pack.
