    Hi,

    I bought a HP dv4-2140, and I did a clean install with Windows 7.

I thought I didn't have to make the recovery disk because I saw the recovery partition and I assumed that I could just use that in case anything goes awry (my dell laptop was like that).

After the clean install, everything is working well and smoothly, but I can't seem to get the quickweb to start. I downloaded a fresh uptodate copy from HP's website, I made a partition formatted Fat32 and labeled HP_TOOLS for the quickweb, and I installed the quickweb.

But for some reason, at the boot, the quickweb option wouldn't even appear. I even tried pressing ESC and boot the quickweb manually, but it wouldn't.

If I lose the quickweb function, it's not the end of the world. However, I would love to have the full function as I had before if it's possible.

Do I have to tweak around with the boot loader?

I have the same problem on a dv6

Let me know if you ever find the answer, I've had 0 luck so far.

I did notice that with QuickWeb enabled in the BIOS there is no display during the POST. Once I disabled QuickWeb the screen that flashes "press esc for options" came back.

Doesn't it have to be added to the boot loader somehow? Just a thought.
You know, just like installing W7 on a second partition, and having XP on the first. You can't access XP until you've fixed the boot loader.

You can install it from the SwSetup folder on your HDD (or your backup if you're on a clean install). The installer in the SwSetup folder should be the full installer and should install to the C drive. You then need to enable it in BIOS and it should automatically boot to it.

I currently have Quickweb working properly on a Mini 110 with a clean install of windows 7 ultimate.
