The settings on my zv5020 still reset to low(8 bit)when I start up. I downloaded the new drivers from hP page. Any other ideas? Also how do I identify the maker of my hard drive?

If the drivers are reverting back to 8bit (256 colors), and re-installing the drivers didn't help, then I can only think it's an OS issue, possibly some 3rd party s/w causing a conflict. I'd recommend reloading the OS as this will eliminate any viruses, spyware or all excess software that could be causing problems. Just make sure you backup all your data before reloading the OS.

To ID the hard drive, just goto the device manager and look under disk drives. It should give you a model#, just enter that model number into Google and it should tell you the manufacturer.
