the mscu??? do i need to re-install these. i tried installing these after a fresh format then did a vista update and got a bsod and a loop could never hit windows. so safe mode roll it back and they are currently uninstalled and i seem to be able to update now.. there is very little info on what these actually do.

esu seems to stand for enterprise security update from all the google responses i can find?? are these needed and does anyone know what they really do the system seems so far to be okay without them. thanks

ESU is Essential System Update. I think it's more like a cumulative hot fixes released for Windows. If you have all the latest updates, you probably won't need it.
