Someone just gave me this notebook yesterday, it boots up, runs fine, and has no issues other than the keyboard doesn't work.. It's not physically damaged at all, it looks in good condition, I've taken out the keyboard and tested it on a different compaq notebook and it works fine. So I'm confused at this point.

The keyboard isn't broken since it works in a different notebook, and this notebook isn't dead because it runs windows and all programs and what not perfectly. So I ask, is there something about these notebooks that I don't know about? Something that disables the keyboard that I can re-enable?
