    compaq c555 nr five flashing powerlights?

    hi, this laptop when turning on has no fan or screen or any signs of life besides five flashing lights and then nothing, this is with the battery in. When it is only plugged in with no battery it lights up once and then quits. Two things have damaged this computer already so I think it is because of the first, but it worked after correcting.

    The first thing that happened is the owner(not me) decide to punch the keyboard so hard it left a dent in the keyboard. This caused the computer to start up with fan noises and signs of life besides the screen was completely lifeless. After taking apart and removing the keyboard and putting back on after popping out the dent the thing started to work like it use to so I think this might not affect it, yet think it might be a crack.

    The second thing that happened that actually got to the recent problem is someone putting the monitor completely straight flat. After this is when the problem happened, but I am not sure this is what caused it because I have a second one of these that has had this happen with no problems.
