So my friend has this old laptop. The compaq presario 2500. She messed alot of things up with it and asked me to fix it. I heard that compaq's dont allow you to boot from a CD... is this true?
I have the windows xp cd. But i dont know what drivers she needs. Is there a place where I can download them?
How about is there a place that I can download an image of the recovery cd. Would be alot easier.
Thanks guys!

compaqs do let you boot from a cd and i have done this several times.you can do a fresh xp install by this method my advice is to partition the hdd while doing this -
