    What do most people find is the best resolution on this laptop? I find this unit is very nice with the athlon 3400 2.2 processor and 1024mb of memory.I think my top resolution is 1650by1050.Just some opinions please?

    I received mine on Monday, and I went with 1280/800 (WXGA), mainly because I normally operte in desktop mode at 1280x1024. I lose a little on the bottom, but I am comfortable with the width.

    Also, I didn't want to go much smaller, because it will be a desktop replacement, and I want to be able to see what I'm typing!

    I did however consider the higher resolutions, but in the end stuck with WXGA instead.

    (By the way, I love this machine!)

    I also went with the WXGA (1280x800) on my R3000Z after having a WSXGA (1600x1050) on my x1000. While the WSXGA was a beautiful screen, items were just too small on screen for me. I use the laptop primarily on my lap, so the screen is at least 18 inches away.

    It really depends on what you'll do with. And, what resolution do you normally run on your desktop machine? If you had a 19-21 inch monitor, do you have the resolution at 1280x1024, or at 1600x1200? In terms of "actual size", the WXGA screen will display things about the size of the 1280x1024 res on a 21" monitor, while the WSXGA will display things at roughly the same size as the 1600x1200 on a 21" monitor.
