I need help in disabling taps on my laptop. I called tech services and was told to go into 'mouse' and it could be disabled from there. We have tried everything and we still cannot find out how to disable taps.

I am very 'dumb' when it comes to computers. I can turn mine on and off but the tech stuff leaves me in the dark. Can someone please-in very un-geekology, tell me how to disable the taps? I have read several suggestions on how to do this but to be honest, I can't understand any of it.

Can someone help an old fuddy duddy who is still in the stone age :swoon: when it comes to computers understand how to disable taps?

    Thanks

Look for Synaptics manager (or something similar). It will definately let you turn off taps and such

From one Old Fuddy Duddy to another :)

    1. Start>Control Panel>Mouse>Device Settings
    2. Make sure Synaptics TouchPad is highlighted (in Devices)
    3. Click on Settings (below the Device box)
    4. Click on Tapping
    5. Uncheck the “Enable Tapping” check box
    6. OK each screen back to the Control Panel

You should now be “Tap” free.
