I bought a compaq v2000 notebook It came with Amd 1.8 processor, 40 gig hd, 256mb ram. wanting to upgrade hd to 80gig. Is there a way to upgrade hd without haveing to use Dynamic drive overlay. my new 80gig seagate drive wontboot up without DDO on the drive, or is it that this notebook will only have 40gig hd in it. Please help. I would be greatful.

Thats strange! You shouldnt need DDO to run a 80GB HDD on that laptop. HP used to offer 80GB HDD as an option when it was being sold. The V2000 uses a plastic adaptor to connect the HDD to the motherboard. Make sure you have put this onto the new HDD otherwise the laptop wont recognise the HDD.
