    i have a g7-1260us that came with a ralink rt5390 draft n150
    but it only operates on 2.4 mhz and i need something that is dual band
    2.4-5.0 n300
    i think maybe a centrino 6230 might work
    any ideas would be appreciated

    I don't see why you couldn't, I just don't know how easily accessible the wifi card is.

    update, got my card and it's running just fine
    went with the intel centrino advanced 6230 without bluetooth
    just make sure to install drivers before putting in the card
    life is good @300
