I got my Presario build-to-order on the 27th. Loving every minute of it. I got all the upgrades, but since there was no upgrade to the internal sound, I bought a PCMCIA soundblaster Audigy 7.1ch card. Sounds great with headphones now.

Anyhow, I ran the auto-detect on HP website and says r4100. So does the System Information in windows.

However, I ordered a r4000, and the outside says r4000 as well. On the label on the bottom also says this.

So I am confused and don't know which one to choose so I can download drivers from HP website.

I also want to see if I have the latest bios flash.. Thanks guys.

Probably doesn't mean anything. I would only flash the BIOS if you are having issues where it might help.

They are the same. Its HP's naming system. They increase the product number as time goes long. It is more for their retail models which kinda rubs onto their CTO models as well.

Yes, it is the same laptop. HP has different names for different configurations. They refresh the model numbers to make it look newer.

    Thanks guys.

I'm' trying out this CrystalCPUID and so far I've got it to .850 volts and x5. Runs at 999 mhz. I'm trying to see what I can get out of the 12 cell batt.
