    i have questions

    can it take more ram?
    how much more?

what game specs can it play? can it play FEAR? KANE AND LYNCH?

can drive D be used for something other than back up? can that back up be deleted?

    what does 64x2 mean?

i want to get it tomorrow, so i hope someone responds...

rite now i got a 1.7 duo core 1 toshiba.
    wit 2 gig ram
its fine, but i run soo many heavy programs,

outlook, onenote, word, internet, etc etc all at the same time, so i need a bigger processor.
rite? ram didnt help n e when i upgraded that, so i came to the conclusion i need a better processor period.

also, if n e one wants to get at me on chat,

You are looking at the dual core turion processor.

While it does have a dedicated gpu, I haven't been overly impressed with mine. It still seems to be a light weight for gaming by any stretch. On the other hand, the last year or so I've been too busy at work to play games so I haven't tinkered with it at all either.

I find speed to be in part, as dependent on the free HDD space and memory, as it is the processor. Kind of like a butt dyno, but it sure seems to make a difference.

4gig ram at max, and an easy upgrade by removing two screws in the back panel. Cheap too, I just put in 4gigs of DDR2 for about $43.

You can delete and absorb the D: partition (expand C: partition), but that will remove the HP recovery software. Unless you are planning on running a different OS than stock or feel very comfortable restoring from scratch, I'd leave it there.

Another option is picking up a bigger HD. I just upgraded to a 500g WD for about $100. The HDD is located just to the right of the memory if the computer is lying on the screen and requires all of about 2 screws to remove and 4 to release it from the HD caddy. There is an HP adapter on the HDD that needs to be put on the new one so it matches up. Pick up an enclosure for the old HDD and you will have a a nice travel drive and also be able to easily clone your old HDD to the new one. Plenty of free software out there for cloning.

Lastly, most likely you will have an older broadcom b/g wireless card. If you want to take advantage of draft n networking you will want an a/b/g/n card. The broadcom 4321 can be found on ebay for under $30 and swaps out with an additional two screws under the memory panel.

For under $200 and less than 30 minutes of work you will have a nicely upgraded notebook...

    Good luck!
