    does anyone know of a good / free replacement for Hp CoolSence? Hp updated Support Assistant and now CoolSence is MIA.

    You can get Coolsense in Win8 with old support assistance.

    Just install this; ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54001-54500/sp54373.exe

    and run this;
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\Resources\HPThermalAssistant\HPThermalAssistant.exe"

    The old coolsense (aka thermal assistant) works a lot better and effective although its a manual control.
