hey guys i just bought the dv 1000 series laptop from costco wher they had 150$ off.. but i did not think that they would charge me tax and so the total cam to $1260..something...i think if u configure your own system at hp.com it comes around teh same price with a better burner as well as faster har drive speed.. my question is does hp.com charge tax on orders and what do u think i should do.. keep the laptop from costco or rather get better from hp.com if there is not tax.. please help

Hpshopping does not charge sales tax except in 4 states, which you can check out.It is always better to buy a configured computer.

hp.com charges tax when shipping to CA, TN, VA and WI.
if you're a student, go through their academic site and you'll get a discount.

I believe I said the educational discount known as the Academicc Purchase Program through www.hpshopping.com was a better deal for you. You can get Exactly what you want. I believe the Free Battery deal has ended, though ($100 option). Koi Baat Nahi.
