my compaq presaro 2570 laptop frequently needs the ?power jack repair.? This is a weak area and a design flaw. Is there any way to strengthen this area so it won't break down so easily?

Making sure the solder gets through on both sides of the motherboard is really all you can do.
I highly suggest you don't use an epoxy like substances to strengthen the jack. I see a lot of dead motherboards due to that.
