    deleting some programs

    any harm in deleting MS WOrks 7.0? I dont use the calendar, wordprocessor or spreadsheet cause i use OfficeXP. Also there is an HP PSC & Officejet3.0 that is taking up 103mb. What is that and can i delete it? I dont use any HP printers. Just trying to clean up the laptop. thanks

    That is what I did: I removed the 'drivers' that I didn't need and the software, trial ware, and other software that was loaded. If you don't know exactly what to delete the alternative is to call tech support (which I did) or reinstall the OS and install only what you need. You will be amazed in performance after a lot of junk is uninstalled. Don't forget to Defrag afterwards.

    i thought Leo and Patrick from the old Screensavers said that defrag made no overall improvement from notdoing it.

    Anecdotally it improves performance. It may be less of a factor in Higher RPM drives.

    Defraging dose help, its not a larger difference but if you don't mind letting it run time to time then its not going to hurt anything.
