    how come everytime i take my computer out of sleep mode it makes the device connect/disconnect sound effect??

    Well do you have any USB/external devices plugged in?

    Shutting the LCD screen will also sometimes be recognized as a external device.

    no nothing is plugged in....its when i open the lid after its in sleep mode

    Yeah its the LCD screen being detected like a external device.

    Its normal, i wouldnt worry about it. Happens to me too..

    If that annoys you, you can change/disable the sound effect. Control panel->classic view->sounds

    Then, modify which sounds for which event...
