hi everyone im trying to fix this dilemma that i am having

so i broke my lcd screen a few days ago and i got a replacement from ebay. i installed it but i can see the image on my screen but it is verrry dim. there's no back light. so i put the old screen and turned it on and the back light is very bright but the lcd is cracked and messed up. i don't understand how could that be that the new screen is dim and the old one still is bright but messed up.

the model of the laptop is hp dv6605us

if anyone knows a solution id be very grateful

    thanks

    A couple of possibilities:

    1. CCFL tube (backlight) on the new LCD is broken. Not an easy replacement but can be done.

    2. No or wrong inverter on new LCD. Or you forgot you hook it up. Did the new LCD come with an inverter? If not take the inverter off the old LCD and install it on the new.

Then it might be the CCFL tube that broke in the new screen.

Double check your work. See this service manual for connection locations: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01295877.pdf

If everything is connected as it should be, then see if you can send the LCD screen back to whomever you bought it from for a replacement of refund. It may have been damaged in transport.
