Is the dm1-4170us really discontinued. I could not find this intel model on HP Home & Office, I must have gotten the last piece. If it is discontinued, what might its successor be?

You may be right. Too bad, if so. The intel Core i3 makes all the difference. I can't understand why they'd stick with AMD which is woefully slow. I owned a dm1z-4100 and loved everything about it except how long it took to open IE, and how key strokes lagged onscreen. Glad I switched, but had to pay big bucks since the discounted HP price showed out of stock--now you can't even find it on their website.
