    It's not even built yet but my question would be - what do I need to do to 'groom' it? Remove bloatware? BIOS updates? Starting from scratch what steps would you recommend?

    Use the "Minimized System Image" from the recovery menu to remove the bloat automatically.

    Then perform all the Windows 7 updates. That will be a lengthy, iterative process.
