Within the next month I am going to be purchasing a new laptop. This will be my primary machine and i want something that is lightweight since i will take it almost everywhere and that gets great battery life. I use Sketchup and GIMP regularly and am learning Autocad so a netbook is out of the question. The extent of gaming would be limited to Portal 2, if any. In reviews and tests that I've seen, the dm3t has a better processor than the dm1z but slower graphics. What I'm trying to figure out is if it would be worth it to spend $580 on the dm3t(i3, 4gb ram, 320hd) or just go with the dm1z or another similar fusion notebook for $500. Would the good processor with great graphics of the dm1z be better than the great processor with okay graphics of the dm3t for Sketchup and Autocad?

The dm1z doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for Portal 2, if that helps.

It can play other games such as Starcraft 2 which "don't meet the requirements" and Portal 2 isn't too demanding from what i've heard, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
