My sister bought a dm4 a few weeks ago and it is having problems with the wireless internet. We already tried replacing the wireless card. Basically if she is in the room the router is in she has full internet. If she leaves the room and goes up stairs per say she has no internet at all or 1 bar and it drops connection. My Dell laptop has 5 full bars in the same spot. Any ideas? I opened the laptop screen and the antennas appeared to be properly placed.

If you replaced the card, it would point to the antennas. Make sure they are connected properly, and if its still in warranty I would contact HP as the next step would be to check the antenna placement in the display(Which would probably void your warranty)

I already checked the antennas inside the display and they are placed perfectly at the top as they should be and the wires are routed along side of the display as they should be. I am stumped.

Is this a Broadcom or Intel card? On the Broadcom you have an option for aggressive or optimize bandwidth under it's properties. I have a Dell too and seems like their cards are more sensitive. My DM4 card is less sensitve. I set mines to maximize bandwidth.
