Just noticed this. Now available with Sandy Bridge dual cores, the AMD Radeon 6470 (1GB DDR3) and a claim of 8 hours of battery life. Starts at $729.99 with the aforementioned GPU, currently no other GPU options

HP Pavilion dm4 and dm4x Entertainment PC series | HP Official Store

Kind of sad news for us hoping for a U.S. dv4 release. The 6470 is barely an upgrade of the previous gen dm4 6370

This is actually perfect timing for me.

I ordered the last generation dm4 because I didn't see any Sandy Bridge offerings that I liked, but now it's definitely going back. Luckily, I'm still in my return period.

This refresh addresses the minor issues I have with the laptop, mainly the etched case and the track pad. The etchings I thought was a little much, and the track pad while I don't hate, I would prefer separate buttons.

They also maintained the things I did like, such as the dimensions, which is the perfect trade off between usability and portability for me. They also kept the keyboard layout. I really dislike the new layout that they have on some of their new models, the half-size up/down arrow with elongated right-shift key.

As far as the graphics card goes, I don't really mind that it's not that big of a jump power wise. I don't plan to be gaming that hard on it and the light gaming I've done on this laptop, the graphics have been OK. Plus, I have a feeling that if they did offer a more powerful card, they would have had to increase the thickness of the body, which I don't want.

So, I get a laptop with better internals, surprisingly, at just about the same price I paid for the last generation.

The only thing I would have liked is at least one USB 3.0 port and an option for a non-glare screen even at 1366x768. But you can't have everything right

Disappointed as well, I wish they update the GPU to the dame as the dv4's. Oh well, they probably will do it for the SB envy 14s.

Yeah no USB 3.0 is disappointing as well. I also wonder why they don't give this a backlit keyboard. I know they don't want it competing against the Envy and all but with its GPU it really isn't anyway.

/sigh, they made some nice changes but I wish they would have given slightly better video and I would order right now. The screen resolution isn't my favorite but I get such a great discount through my company with HP.
