Ok first off its not mine its my dad's but yeah ill be arround it for about a week and the boatware is really annoying.

I noticed though that there were no manual or cd that normally comes w/ an asus notebook like I have.

So does this have a hidden partition to wipe the OS, so the evil norton goes away? :)
I did read the thing saying to make a recovery cd asap in there. Should I use the recovery partition and then make the cd based off that? From what I can tell is that is backs up what your currently running but idk.

I'm going to keep reading through but yeah I thought I might ask.

    *got it at costco btw

Just do a total clean install. You can create your own recovery partition after using MS disk management (start menu) or using the Diskpart utility in an elevated CMD.
