same with me, but my computer is a DV2500 (14.1" version) and it says DV2000 in the upper right corner. I find it annoying because I feel there is a difference.

this is partially true .. but dont quote me on it ..

I called HP about this earlier and a CS agent said something of this being a problem at the factory and that they are aware of the "issue". I was trying to get more information of of the accented agent, but was cut off before I could do so.

From what I have been able to gather from using my machine, is that it is what HP claims to be (dv6500t) but as someone else stated, I am also not happy with the wrong labeling.

I am going to call them back and find out more info and if possible I will try and post back here.

Its not a big deal guys. Its just part of the x000 series. My laptop says 9500t in my specs in control panel but dv9000 up in the corner. As long as your happy with the computer and it says what model it is in control panel it shouldnt really matter...its just a sticker ;)

A simple search would have answered your question, this seems to be asked every week.
