It looks pretty decent to me. If you can't wait for a configure-to-order model, go for it.

Yes, it is a good deal for $749. A similarly configured cto model would be about $1,083 (including the webcam & fingerprint reader).

The battery is likely a standard 6-cell, as that is what ships with many of HP's prebuilt units......

One thing I'm concerned with is AMD processor. If I was to built one from scratch using AMD processor even with employee discount it would of cost me more then $750. What would be a comparable Dual Core 2 Duo? 2.2*.8=1.76 (GHz). I can get Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5550 (1.83 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) with 120GB HDD (they charge a lot for 250GB) with same video card, 4965 Wirelles card, high capacity baterry, web cam/built-in mic... for $633 or 762 without EPP. Same configuration with Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Pprocessor T7250 for $697. I'm not sure on the processor speed though. I have Dell Vostro 1500 with 5470 and same video card and I think it's fast enough for everything I do.
I'll be playing Blu-Ray rips that's why I want another laptop with HDMI out. Dell only has component video.

If going with the Intel, I'd step up to the T7250. At least the newer machine will be somewhat of an upgrade over the previous one and not the same......

i have the dv6772nr. Its great. I don't think you'd notice a *big* difference between AMD 2.2 vs Intel 1.83. I can play all my games at comfortable res/settings with the 256mb 8400gs so I'm happy. It comes with just the 6 cell. I don't think theres gonna be much difference between 6 cell and 6cell extended. Maybe 15-30 mins tops.
