does any one know dv7 back-lit keyboard

Ok so i got poking around in my dv7-2185dx today. because the lcd is busted and the battery is bad but that is not the question that brought me here. I noticed on the mother board there is a plug for what appears to be for a back lit keyboard. Now my question is does anyone out there know of a cross reference list for parts on these or know of a similar model that has a back lit keyboard? i have done some looking but have not found anything as of yet. Well I have only been looking for about 30 minutes so I know that's not enough time to give up on it so the search will continue. Now I am also assuming that the controller for the back light is on the board because I have not tested it for power or traced the plug back to anything like I said I've only jsut started looking into this.

Im searching the same same thing... I landed here in searching the same answer to this... I dissasembly my dv7-2185 (which i love) and see the same plug onto the motherb... Do you succed? do you found a backlit keyboard with backlit, replace it and works??????? please answer me, i want to replace this ty keyb with a illuminated one.

Have you contact HP support and asked the about the backlit keyboard? That would the other source you should look into asking about it as well. And then if you get that info could tells us back here about it and what if you did manage to get that part number from HP.
