does it really take over 10 days just to get a laptop built from HP?

the wait is killing me...anyone got ways to numb the anxiety from finally ordering their first laptop?

It's always VERY busy this time of the year. The kiddies are getting ready for school and place their laptop orders now.

When they say 10 days to build it's really like 6, and when they say it's about 5-7 days for shipping it's really like 3 days. I ordered it on 8/23 and got it on 9/1. I thought it's gonna take a long time to ship since it's built from Kunshan China, but Fedex shipped it fast. So it's really not that bad, just don't worry about it, it'll come before you realize it.

LED screens and batteries are in short supply.

Is there not a standard store-stocked config that would suit your needs?? I was hell-bent on getting a machine direct from HP until I took a serious look at the configs in stores. Ended up buying at CircuitCity.
