owners...I have a question: does the dv2500t or the dv6500t have a grounded socket on the A/C adaptor?

i live in an old house that doesn't have grounded sockets in most of the rooms

    thanks.

Yes, they adapters have three prongs. But, you can go to any electronic store and buy a adapter for the outlets for a couple of dollars.

Yes but your laptop will not be grounded. So if a surge of electricity hits your house, there goes your laptop... would a power strip work in this case? I think the power strip would need to be grounded still correct?

Yup, the laptop may be toasted (slightly brown on both sides), but more importantly so could anyone using the laptop!

A power strip will not help. Grounded outlets have a purpose.

The adapter will help if you attach the little metal ring of the adapter to the center screw of the panel. Of course you should get an outlet tester to see if the outlet is properly grounded before you connect.
