my elitebook 8530w seems to boot up slow w/ 64 bit vista. i did a clean install and installed the drivers. Ex. it will say "please wait" for 20 seconds before going to the "welcome" screen. after "welcome" comes up..it does boot to the desktop very fast and is ready to go though. what is causing vista to hang like this at the welcome screen?

    My specs
    8GB(4gb x 2) ddr2-667mhz memory
qx9300 quad core processor- this thing is a beast!
    vista x64

dude, i have vista on 3+ machines and this is the only 1 that does it. wrong answer unfortunately and soon you will have to upgrade to vista part 2= windows 7.

update: vista sp1 has fixed this. now its booting up faster than i can think. lol.
