Try this one. It's newer than the one listed for the DV2550 but should work.

If you just installed Vista, have you installed the chipset, video, and audio drivers?
-
-
Does the modem show up in "Device Manager" ?
-
report "driver installation failed: could not find the MODEM device for this driver"
-
Go to "Device Manager" and check to see if you have any unknown devices listed or if the modem is listed under Network Adapters.
-
OK, try installing the driver manually to the "Unknown Device". Do you know how to do this?
-
Your model should be using a Conexant Modem since its similar to mine.
-
-
Do you know how to do a manual driver install?
-
-
Ok..... I'll give this a try.
First, extract the files from the .exe modem driver you downloaded. Do you know how to do this?
(Flip... stop laughing) -
-
Great.... now extract all the files to a temp folder.
-
-
sorry...just extract the files to a folder that is empty. If you don't have one, make one and call it temp (temporary).
-
is it "c:\SWSetup\SP35891"???
-
Sorry no.... just make or find and an "empty" folder.
try c:\windows\temp and extract the file to there. -
i finished. what next step??
-
my folder temp not empty. need to creat a new???
-
OK good job. Now go to Device Manager and select the "Unknown Device". Right click and select "Properties", then select the driver tab.
On the drivers tab, select "Update Driver". When it ask, select do not search for drivers. It will then ask you to Install Automatically or Search Manually. Select "Manually" then point it at the folder where you have extracted the files. If you are using Vista 32 point it at the 32bit folder. -
it's still fail. i think my hardware is broken!
(
-
it report "windows could not load the installer for Modem. Contact your hardware vendor for assistanse"
-
Did you point the manual driver search to the Wqcvenz.inf file located in the V32 folder you extracted? Also what BIOS is your computer running?
-
what is point??
-
Is that where you extracted the files to?
-
If you have installed the chipset drivers this should work. What BIOS is your computer running?
-
how can i test my BIOS, when i install win, i flashed my BIOS!!
-
Reboot the computer and press F10 during BOOT to enter the BIOS. Check the BIOS version there. F2E is the most current.
-
my version is F2E!
-
F2E is good. No Modem yet is bad. I don't think they are related, but is your eithernet and or wireless turned on?
-
what's eithernet? my wireless always turned on!
-
ethernet = NIC = Network Interface Card. Never mind though, I was just checking. Sorry I couldn't help you.... but try the manual install again since you have rebooted the computer. You just never know.....
-
by the way, thanks you so much!!
-

-
