hi, i've got an HP pavilon DV9000 series (idk the exact, i think its dv9700.) anyways i was wondering how a dual boot really works? i have two 120GB hd's on this laptop, however when i first got the comp there was a warning not to run an OS off of this drive? why is that?
and if i cant run it off of the second drive, how do i do it? is there a way to partition without losing data on either drives (data is on both.) thanks!

Yeah -- there's not common reason to install both. A 64-bit OS will handle 32-bit applications, if that's your worry.

well i kind of want to see how much faster it actually is. i don't really want to lose my data, and i also don't want to have to deal with the missing driver issues quite just yet. (i know HP has them all.) so i guess the question would then be. is it worth it?
and while i'm dual booting, ive run Ubuntu in a virtual machine before... (i know its dual bootable.) is there a way to run apple's OSX leopard in a virtual machine, or dual boot? i kind of want to play with that OS before i buy a mac. thanks again.

btw its illegal to use OSX on a PC. It can only be used on apple products. Its against forum rules to talk about it

oh ok. well can any1 answer my other question:
about how much faster 64 bit would be than the 32. and if it's worth it for a reformat to put it on.

it's not going to be noticeably faster. If you don't have a specific reason for going to 64bit, stick w/ 32bit for now.

Actually, it just violates the EULA, which is not a very strong legal agreement. Otherwise, Psystar would have been ripped apart by Apple's legal team by now. The mods here probably just don't want to deal with complaints from Apple.
